Credit for Your Military Service
As a University Policy, EKU awards maximum credit for your military training and experience, based upon ACE recommendations.
Requesting your JST (Army, Navy, National Guard, Marine Corp, Coast Guard)
To receive credit for your military service, servicemembers and veterans must submit an official Joint Service Transcript (JST). Visit HERE, and request for your transcript to be sent to EKU electronically. Be advised that transcripts sent electronically may be processed faster than paper transcripts sent via US Mail.
Air Force veterans and servicemembers should click HERE to request their Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) transcript to receive military credit. CCAF credit hours will be processed by the EKU Registrar’s Office in the same manner as civilian college transcripts.
Processing and Evaluation
All Joint Service Transcripts are processed as quickly as possible in the order they are received. Military credits from Joint Service Transcripts that have not been evaluated will appear on your degree audit as “N” courses. Once evaluated, “N” courses will populate as either (1) direct EKU equivalencies; or (2) “X” courses, which have no direct equivalency but can be applied as Free Electives.
Want an unofficial report of what military credits you may receive? Please email your JST to EKUVeteransAffairs@eku.edu and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
Student Success Seminar
New first-time freshmen, and transfer students with less than 30 non-academic college credit hours are required to enroll in a Student Success Seminar in their first semester of enrollment at EKU. Military credits are recorded in the same manner as transfer credits and will not be processed until after the Add/Drop date to ensure that students are registered for this university requirement.
